In India, Nuclear power is the fifth-largest source of electricity after coal, gas, hydro, and wind generation. India has 22 nuclear-operating reactors in 7 atomic energy power plants, with 6780 MW of total installed capacity. Atomic power produced a complete of 35 TWh and supplied 3.22% of Indian electricity in 2017. A number of reactors under construction are 7 with 4300 MW of combined generation capacity. Today we will get to know all the Nuclear power plant of India.
In October 2010, India drew up a concept to achieve an atomic energy capacity of 63 GW in 2032. However, following the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, there are numerous anti-nuclear protests at the proposed atomic power plant sites. There are mass protests against the Jaitapur nuclear energy Project in Maharashtra.

Also, the Kudankulam atomic energy Plant in the province and a proposed large atomic power plant near Haripur was refused permission by the Govt of West Bengal. However, capacity factors are improving in recent years. the supply factor of Indian reactors was 69.4% within the years 2015-2017. one in all the most reasons for the low capacity factors is lack of fuel. India has been making advances within the field of thorium-based fuels, working to style and develop a prototype for a chain reactor using thorium and low-enriched uranium, a key a part of India's three stages nuclear energy program. The country has also recently re-initiated its involvement within the LENR research activities, additionally supporting work wiped out the fusion power area through the ITER initiative.
