As discussed above the Witricity meaning is the technology that helps us to avoid wiring when we transfer electricity. Many scientists from different countries already said that we need WiTricity to develop our smart city.

Working of WiTricity

How does it work?

Working of a WiTricity circuit is very easy to understand. There are two coils - the transmitter coil and the receiver coil. There is a circuit for the supply side. The source is connected directly to the circuit and the circuit is connected to the transmitter coil. When the supply to the circuit is ON the transmitter coil emits non-radioactive magnetic waves. On the other side far from the transmitter coil, the receiver coil receives the waves. When the receiver coil receives the waves, waves help to induce some EMF in the coil. This EMF induces a current in the receiver coil and that's how the load connected to the receiver coil gets the current.

Some real-life applications are -

  1. Charging purpose: By Witricity we can charge our EVs (electric vehicles) at the roadside as well as in our house. Germany already started this process.
  2. Power to stationary devices: We can easily connect stationary devices like TV, laptop, printer, home theatre and etc and get power through Witricity
  3. Application on the medical field: Pacemaker, infusion pumps, and LVAD are using the Witricity to get power or different purposes.
  4. Military application: Without a battery, the night visions, radios, and other electronic devices get power through WiTricity in the military vest.
