Mahindra e2o is a smart hybrid car manufactured by Indian automobile company Mahindra Reva. It was launched in March 2013. Mahindra Reva is a manufacturer of hatchback electric cars. Mahindra e2o was the first fully electric passenger vehicle. Mahindra e2o is a four-seater, hatchback with two doors. It comes with an electric motor and battery system. It also comes with other features like driving convenience, safety, cost-efficient, eco-friendly and other features. 

Smart Hybrid comes with advanced technology like fuel efficiency and driving performances. When idle the engine automatically switches off and other features like silent start, torque assist functions and automatic transmissions. These technologies use dual battery setup and Lithium-Ion Battery. These high capacity batteries store the energy during braking. The energy stored in the Lithium-ion battery helps the engine to acceleration and show its performance.

Mahindra e2o Successors

Mahindra & Mahindra discontinues its manufacturing of Mahindra e2o in 2016. The last recorded price of Mahindra e2o was Rs 4.82-6 lakhs till 2016. With the introduction of new technologies and Mahindra not making enough of the domestic market, Mahindra launched its immediate successor Mahindra e2o Plus in October 2016. Mahindra E2o Plus is sold in 4 different variant P2, P4, P6, P8 depending on the driving range on a single charge. The P8 variant can provide the maximum range of 140 Km taking 7hours or more to get fully charge. Other technology like the regenerative braking, smartphone App connectivity system, iEMS Technology are an addition to Mahindra e2o Plus.

Now, Mahindra & Mahindra is looking forward to launching new pure electric PVs like the Mahindra eKUV100 and the pure electric Mahindra XUV300. Mahindra & Mahindra company claims Mahindra XUV300 battery is powered to offer 350-400 Km range and much efficient charging system. A new facility called the “REVive” that neglects range anxiety by offering an additional 1Km when the battery runs off.
